The first step to joining Todd Smith Fitness is booking your free fitness assessment, either online or over the phone at 602-292-9742. We’ll send you a health form to fill out, and then schedule a time for you to come in. Don’t let the word “assessment” scare you though – it’s a simple process that won’t leave you drenched in sweat! Our trainers are passionate about helping you meet goals that are important to you. They will use the results of your fitness assessment to create a personalized workout plan tailored to your lifestyle, body and goals. The Assessment Step By Step
To begin the fitness assessment, one of our trainers will help you practice the TSF Perfect Posture Position. This step takes 5-10 minutes and is important because maintaining the Perfect Posture Position increases the effectiveness of every single exercise you’ll perform. You’ll be shown how to keep your neck in a neutral position, retract your scapula, and bring your navel in towards your spine. Correcting posture in this way is a major factor in helping you feel your best during workouts, as well as in everyday life.
Next, your trainer will guide you through a 5-10 minute upper and lower body warm-up using simple but effective exercises that prep your body for your workout. We will explain the importance of warming up before jumping into physical activity, as well as guide you through warm-up movements that are best for your specific body type, goals and the upcoming workout.
After the warm-up, you’ll engage in a 5 to 10-minute upper and lower body strength workout. We understand that every body is different and requires different workouts, which is why we personalize the experience to our clients’ needs. This is one of the ways we help you look and feel your best! Most potential clients are so surprised with how good they feel after just 15 minutes of doing the right exercises – exercises that are tailored to them!
Body Composition Analysis
At the end of your assessment, your trainer will show you our body composition analysis tool called Inbody. InBody analysis is arguably the most important part of your fitness assessment, because it gives you a definitive way to know if you’re meeting your goals. Unlike a regular scale that measures your overall weight, Inbody analyzes your water, fat and muscle composition. This allows us to not only tailor your workouts to match your needs, but to accurately track your progress in the ways that count!
Picking a Program Right for You
Once the assessment is completed, we’ll move forward with scheduling and picking the program that works best for you. Some of our members start with two sessions per week, which is a great introduction. Other members who may have specific timelines or goals dive right in with three or more weekly sessions. The good news is, it’s all up to you! Our trainers are able to track your progress and help you achieve your goals on your timeline. Before you leave your assessment, we’ll send you off with a TSF swag bag – which includes a water bottle, towel, nutrition guide, portion control magnet, and t-shirt.
